Ultrasound Assistant CatOne of the many ways we are dedicated to providing your pet with the best care possible is by using ultrasound as a diagnostic tool, which creates images of the inner workings of the body.

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to offer a non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free method of imaging your pet’s internal organs. We use this to evaluate abnormalities of internal organs, including the heart, which may not appear on x-rays.

We use ultrasound to acquire images of the stomach, intestines, liver and kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, and urinary bladder.  With ultrasound capabilities, we are also able to obtain echocardiograms, which help to evaluate heart function.

Our ultrasounds are completed by a licensed veterinary technician specifically trained to perform ultrasounds of abdominal organs, and the heart. These images are then sent to a board-certified radiologist and/or cardiologist for review, which helps allow us to obtain crucial information in a more timely fashion than having to wait for an appointment at a specialty hospital.

We also offer ultrasound-guided biopsies of internal organs which can aid in making a diagnosis in some pets without the need for more invasive surgeries.
